Meet Aren
With a degree in sales and marketing, Aren Evers worked in the newspaper industry for over 25 years, starting with community newspapers and then with national publications, including as an associate publisher of a magazine division. A return to school to pursue a degree in Design afforded her a more flexible schedule and the opportunity to give back to her community as a volunteer. At this time, she fortuitously noticed a “Volunteers Needed” sign in the Thrift Shop window. As someone born, raised, and now residing on the North Shore – it was the perfect fit. As Thrift Shop chair, Aren has helped implement new and creative marketing ideas. She and her dedicated team have increased the Thrift Shop revenues and helped the Auxiliary make significant financial donations to Lions Gate Hospital. And with special sales, sustainability programs, and public events such as fashion shows, the Thrift Shop has raised its community profile. Aren previously enjoyed sharing the Auxiliary Co-President position with Bob Morrison.
